When Martin Luther King Jr. was killed on April 4 nearly 50 years ago, he was in Memphis to support black sanitation workers who were on strike against politicians intent on busting their union. King saw a deep link between the labor and civil rights.
Join in this day of resistance with Organized Labor in solidarity with black and brown workers from throughout the Bay Area. The march will begin with a short program at the MLK Memorial and will end with a short program at the 1934 General Strike Memorial.
