Description: Special Screening of “Rape on the Night Shift”
Please join us for a lunch time screening of the award winning Frontline documentary “Rape on the Night Shift,” followed by a panel discussion about efforts underway to address this critical issue. The panel will include the filmmakers as well as survivors and advocacy experts from immigrant communities including janitorial, domestic worker, and farm worker perspectives. Lunch will be provided.
This documentary investigates the sexual abuse of women who work as janitors, many of them undocumented immigrants fearful that they’ll be deported or lose their jobs if they report their alleged attackers.
This screening seeks to raise awareness in the community as well as draw attention to the issue as the Governor considers legislation to put in place stronger protections for janitors.
Please let us know if you can attend and sign on as a co-sponsor of the event
