Title: Wake Up SF: STRIKE for $15 and Our Homes
Location: 609 Market St. SF — McDonalds, Montgomery St BART
Link out: Click here
Description: Thanks to striking fast food workers, California just became the first state in the US to pass a $15/hr minimum wage! While this is a very significant victory, here in San Francisco, we know that’s not enough to keep working people in our homes.

On 4/14, we will flood the streets to demand an end to the overlapping crises of mass displacement, poverty wages, systemic racism and police violence that threaten to destroy the very soul of Our City. We cannot allow corporations like McDonalds and Wells Fargo to continue to make record profits off the backs of workers and tenants while developers like Lennar kick out people of color in the Mission and Bayview. SF’s Black population is down to a meager 3% — #BlackLivesMatter means stopping displacement now!

Across the City, bosses undermine efforts of workers to unionize and win better pay, threatening our ability to afford the City we love. But fast food workers, housekeepers, home care workers, janitors – we are the lifeblood of San Francisco! We deserve to live in the City we work hard to sustain.

And we will not be kicked out without a fight!

Sponsored by Fight for $15, Plaza 16, Causa Justa, ACCE, SEIU 1021, Local 87, Jobs with Justice SF, Progressive Workers Alliance, Save Midtown and SF Living Wage Coaltion.
